Canora Supportive Housing on 154 St

Construction Update, October 2024

In the coming weeks, construction will begin on a new supportive housing site located at 101 Avenue and 154 Street, in Edmonton’s Canora neighbourhood.
Project overview


The Canora supportive housing site will have 63 units (including nine barrier-free, one-bedroom units). Once open, it will be a home just like any other — a place for people to feel safe, supported and part of a community. Residents sign a lease and pay rent while receiving support with life skills, health and wellness and other areas.
Construction of the site is anticipated to be completed in winter 2026. Once construction is complete, the site will be turned over to Homeward Trust to manage the property and contract an experienced non-profit agency to operate the supportive housing program.

Tree and shrub removals
To prepare for construction, all trees and shrubs will be removed from the project site. These removals will be completed by an International Society of Arboriculture certified arborist under the direction of a City of Edmonton urban forester as per Corporate Tree Management Policy C456C.

Construction impacts
During construction, nearby residents and businesses may experience increased noise levels and traffic due to the nature of the work. The majority of construction activities will take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. which aligns with Community Standards Bylaw 14600. The City is working to reduce construction impacts while keeping residents and business owners informed of
these impacts.
